Easter Island - (25. - 29. July 2002):
(In native language called: Rapa Nui. The island is only about 25 km at its longest distance. And quite far away from the equator (though still at the South Pacific) – means: cooler climate. It is part of the territory of Chile and probably the most isolated island of the world (hundreds and even thousands of miles away from each other island or the South America continent. It is not as wasted and ugly as people told me. They have trees, palm-trees and such - though not a really large amount of. And besides other rumours: it was never truly abandoned ! Though it is hard to live there. And it is famous for its black/grey Moai-statues (only found on Rapa Nui) with their red HATS- actually hair-knots.
