I know why Jesus Wept
 For I have seen such terrible sights
 I know why his tears fell
 for I know his untold sorrows
 I have seen a thousand dreams die
 Faded from the minds and memories of all
 But those who weep from their passing
 I have seen a thousand men die for those dreams
 Death heaped upon death
 Until no one remembers why
 I have seen a thousand woman cry
 Their husbands sacrificed by insane zealots
 For a twisted version of one great phylosophy
 For a thousand centuries I have seen it
 Men distorting dreams of great men
 Taking their words of wisdom
 Turning them to words of hatred
 A cause of genocidal wars
 An exuse for animolistic violence
 I know Why Jesus wept
 he died for you
 For your sins and for your ignorance
 He tried to show his his dream
 and you've turned it to a nightmare
 His knew this day would come
 He knew his fate and yours
 The meek may inherit the earth
 But the strong have abused them for so long
 That they too are just as corrupt
 I know the reason Jesus cried
 because His dreams were not worth dreaming
 His dream has faded to a nightmare
 I know why Jesus wept
 And so we watch
 As you destroy yourselves
 And us with you
 The world falls around us
 And we shall fall too
 I know why Jesus wept
 It is why I weep too.
